What is acne?
Acne vulgaris (juvenile or late-onset) is an inflammatory condition caused by an increase in sebum production by the sebaceous gland, particularly under the influence of sex hormones. This phenomenon, which often appears during puberty, then leads to the obstruction of hair follicular openings (where hairs form) and the proliferation of bacteria in the accumulated sebum.
Most often, we refer to open comedones (or "blackheads" because sebum blackens upon contact with air) or closed comedones (microcysts or whiteheads).
The causes of these comedones are diverse: air pollution, excessive sugar intake, smoking, alcohol, sun exposure, makeup, aggressive or insufficient skin cleansing, wearing a mask...
Different types of acne:
Acne can take different forms depending on its severity, age, stage of evolution, or context (such as pregnancy, for example).
There are 2 main types of acne:
- Retentional acne is the least severe stage of acne. It results from sebum accumulation and the skin's difficulty in expelling it. It manifests as oily and shiny skin, enlarged pores, and the presence of blackheads or microcysts.
- Inflammatory acne is triggered by an imbalance in the skin flora conducive to the excessive development of bacteria responsible for comedones.
Other more specific forms of acne also exist: hormonal acne, cystic acne, rosacea acne, and others…
Good practices to prevent acne
Good habits can help limit its impact or even prevent it!
- Adopt good eating habits by consuming fruits and vegetables, not overindulging in coffee or alcohol (to be consumed in moderation), and avoiding sweets and greasy foods as much as possible.
- Use food supplements that work from within, such as those from Nutri&Co.
- Wash your hands regularly because we touch our face an average of 3000 times 😮 and use clean brushes to apply skincare or makeup.
- Cleanse your skin daily (1 to 2 times) prioritizing gentle cleansing products to avoid drying it out (prefer cold-processed soaps that retain the properties of the oils). Rinse thoroughly and use a clean towel for drying.
- Do 1 or 2 gentle exfoliations per week, for complete complexion care. Endro scrub combines pomegranate enzymes, upcycled peach and orange powder, and AHAs from pomelo for complete and radiant care! This combination of ingredients acts as an enzymatic exfoliant to provide radiance and immediate softness. The fruit powders, in turn, perform a mechanical exfoliation that smooths the skin's surface while respecting it (all skin types). AHAs promote cell renewal, for refined skin texture and a luminous complexion, while respecting skin sensitivity.
- Avoid picking or squeezing blackheads yourself, as this risks causing a hair follicle infection and potentially serious complications. Even if it's really satisfying sometimes 😅
- Use an anti-blemish serum: roll-on format ideal for local application.
- Adopt a purifying routine combining: an adapted cleanser, a serum, and a cream (day and night) that boosts the serum's active ingredients and seals in hydration (essential even for acne-prone skin).
How to treat acne
Mild acne does not necessarily require medication, phew! We can then prioritize suitable treatments.
The frequency of treatment application depends on the product used, the type of acne, and the patient's tolerance. These local treatments are best applied in the evening so they can act throughout the night.
Choose a hydrating and non-comedogenic day cream, to compensate for the possible drying effects of the treatment and avoid stimulating the sebaceous glands, which might otherwise start working overtime (these glands then 😅).
Finally, follow the good practices and habits mentioned above.
If you have severe acne, we advise you to speak to a professional like a dermatologist who will prescribe the most appropriate treatment for your needs.
Our miracle 100% natural solution!
There is an incredible quantity of treatments, each more innovative than the last... and sometimes very restrictive. But what do they really contain? At Endro Cosmétiques, it seemed important to us to offer you an entirely natural and effective solution that you can trust implicitly.
Our anti-blemish serum contains only 4 ingredients that give it all its effectiveness and a soft, slightly toasted lemon scent 🍋🌰:
- Organic hazelnut vegetable oil (non-comedogenic)
- Organic Palmarosa essential oil (antibacterial)
- Organic Tea Tree essential oil (antibacterial)
- Tocopherol (natural antioxidant)
Hazelnut oil is sebum-regulating and astringent and helps tighten pores. Its peculiarity? It is almost identical to the skin's sebum, which is very useful for helping it regulate itself naturally. 😉
Palmarosa essential oil is antibacterial and antifungal, it stimulates cell regeneration for better healing, and Tea Tree essential oil has anti-infectious, antibacterial, and antiseptic properties to purify the skin. There you have it, thanks to this concentration of active ingredients, blemishes dry out faster without drying out the skin!
They talk about it better than we do 😊
Since its launch, we have received very positive feedback on our anti-blemish serum, and we are delighted that it has been adopted so quickly. Mothers buy it for their teenagers going through puberty, women use it to calm their hormonal acne or to make their scars disappear...

And we know... acne and sun don't mix well! To have great skin all year round, it's important to protect your skin from the sun.
